Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (Adelaide / Port Augusta / Whyalla)

Even time rosters 7 on – 7 off available for our Whyalla depot.

The Role:

Service & repair of mobile plant & equipment including mobile cranes, trucks, EWP’s & light vehicles.

LIEBHERR, TADANO-FAUN, TEREX, WESTERN STAR, VOLVO, ISUZU, GENIE, JLG, MANITOU.

  • Experience in diagnostic software

Trainee Rigger / Crane Operator (Port Augusta)

We are currently looking for a highly motivated young person to employ in a Rigger/Crane Operator Traineeship.

The Traineeship will be located at the Port Augusta Depot, where you will be given the training to become an Advanced Rigger and Mobile Crane Operator, and the opportunity to travel around the Upper Spencer Gulf Region.

Operations Supervisor (Whyalla)

Equal time roster, 7 days on, 7 days off – Dayshift only. Ideally locally based, however FIFO and DIDO options can be discussed.

We are currently seeking an Operations Supervisor for our Whyalla Operations. This role will be responsible and accountable for supervising projects, operators, riggers and trades persons.

The Position:

  • Ensure job sites are inspected to ensure correct equipment and personnel are used
  • Complete lift studies and co-ordinate and monitor site activities
  • Undertake site observations, facilitate pre-start and toolbox meetings to ensure work is carried out safely and efficiently
  • Source lifting equipment as required
  • Implementing and managing operational plans by providing instruction, direction and feedback in a hands-on approach
  • Ensuring work is conducted in line with all of our Policies and Procedures

About you:

  • You will have experience in Supervising teams of employees preferably in crane and/or rigging and have outstanding people management and communication skills.
  • You will preferably have experience as a supervisor within shutdown operations, mining construction and maintenance work or have experience and knowledge of Mobile Cranes and equipment.
  • You will provide safety leadership and have a demonstrated ability to manage safety and take appropriate action in relation to managing hazards and incidents.
  • You thrive in a fast pasted environment and you are a resourceful and effective decision maker.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer focused and a “CAN-DO CAPABILITY” attitude.
  • You will be organised, have an ability to deal with multiple tasks at the same time and have a desire to work within a team to meet timelines and deliver quality work.  Most of all you will have a great attitude and want to grow and be rewarded for your hard work.
  • You will hold the necessary high-risk licences in Crane Operations and Rigging and have Crane, Mining or Construction experience.

Crane Operators (FIFO – SA Field Based)

FIFO SA field based – Even time 14 on 14 off roster.

  • Participate in daily site toolbox and safety meetings, other meetings or pre-starts as required by our clients
  • Operate a variety of equipment daily according to licencing, qualifications, schedule and instructions from Site Supervisor, choosing and setting up the right crane, lift or hoist to complete each task safely and efficiently
  • Inspect machines and equipment daily, perform routine maintenance procedures and minor repairs as required and initiate additional repair requests from mechanics when necessary
  • Complete daily checklists and other forms ensuring all required information is submitted
  • Control cranes, lifts and other equipment using standard operating procedures to ensure effective lifting of materials and safety for all personnel on site
  • Follow MAX and Clients Procedures at all times and complete JSA and other associated paperwork prior to completing a lift
  • Maintain visual and radio contact with ground operators according to best practices and site safety regulations, and respond to questions and instructions clearly and quickly
  • Provide additional support to other crane operators and riggers as necessary, including working overtime to complete tasks, operating several types of equipment and training or monitoring other operators
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a Police Clearance
  • Ability to pass medical and D&A tests
  • CO Licence preferred
  • RI Licence preferred

Truck Driver (Whyalla)

  • Inspect plant and equipment, analyse, trouble shoot and identify a sequence of repairs and maintenance of plant and equipment
  • Complete and submit work hire dockets
  • Complete logbooks as required under any Heavy Vehicle Legislation
  • Perform breakdown road service on equipment when required
  • Recommend improved work methods and procedures in an effort to continuously improve the functions performed

Shutdown Operators and Riggers

We have one of the largest fleets of mobile cranes operating in South Australia and we proudly boast a team of highly skilled trained operators, in-house crane specialists, technicians and mechanics. We live our values and we pride ourselves on going above and beyond for our customers.

We are currently seeking multiple operators and riggers for current shuts in SA, moving forward, there will be a variety of shuts on offer at various locations around South Australia. Future shutdowns will run back-to-back so that you have the option of moving from one site to the next continuously.

Meals, accommodation and travel will be provided, flights from Adelaide airport or Port Augusta. As COVID has ever-changing restrictions, these roles would be ideal for those already based in South Australia.

Requirements:

  • High Risk C6,C1 & C0
  • High Risk RB, RI & RA
  • High Risk WP, or SL & BL ticket
  • Current police clearance (within the last 6 months)
  • Previous shutdown experience
  • Working at Heights ticket (within 2 years)

Superstars or people with all the tickets & expectations, with little or no experience or exposure to general crane hire & serious heavy lift. We would rather train and up-skill good hard working and committed people. So if you are only in our Industry for money and nothing else, save your energy.

E.g. – If you have a CO with RA, have worked briefly on a wind farm project, walked past or sat in the seat of an LG 1750 for 10 minutes and claim to be an experienced operator save yourself the time and don’t apply.

If you have a CN, C6 etc and / or a riggers ticket have worked on a wind farm walked past or sat in the seat of an LG1750, would like to further yourself, be willing to relocate, be up skilled and trained according to your capabilities, be part of a great business with great Values and one day drive or crew on an LG or a pick & carry machine, a 350 tonne crawler or the biggest mobile crane in Australia (our LTM 11200) then by all means contact us.
