Derailed Ore Wagons Recovery, Spencer Junction.

MAX Services was engaged by EDI Rail to recover 10 derailed ore wagons weighing between 90t to 100t at the Spencer Junction rail terminal in Port Augusta. The site was inspected prior to lifting by MAX Services experienced Heavy Lift Supervisor.

The derailed wagons were located within 2 metres of the main rail line so all lifting was completed within a restricted space.

The Liebherr LTM 1400 was rigged with 120t of counterweight and 30.9 metres of main boom giving a lifting capacity of 105.8t up to 11.5 metres radius. The lift was completed incident free and a safety supervisor was on site at all times.
