Shunt Reactor Installation, Davenport Sub Station.

Description

MAX was employed by Mega Lift Australia to install a 70T shunt reactor at Davenport Sub Station. A comprehensive site inspection was undertaken and a safe work method statement and detailed JSA were developed.

The lift was extremely challenging due to the minimal headroom with overhead 275k power lines. These lines were de-energised and earthed during the lift. There were live overhead power lines and live switch yard equipment in the vicinity of the cranes work area but this was overcome by SA Power Network supplying a level three spotter.

The LTM 1250 was rigged with 97.5t of counterweight with 15.5m of main boom.
